One time my dad threw me around and I bit him. He never said sorry and I didn't speak to him for 10 years. Then when he was on his deathbed and I was a month into Pregabalin (Lyrica) I told him I loved him and he shook my hand then he recovered and we had a few years of amiability left before he died. The way I saw it was that I apologised for him because we're connected and I could do that, if he couldn't do it I would.
