I think chapter one of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is free on steampie. Bored and snowed in so wondering if I should read it. Watched bits of the various anime series and it's pretty cool every time the townsfolk go into mass psychosis murder rampages.

if you already watched the anime you probably won't enjoy it though, you spoiled it already and it requires more patience, just like if you watched the crappy clannad, kanon or air animes before reading their much superior visual novels

Didn't finish any of them. Not sure how far I got into each since it's been a bit.
