You were so stunned by your pain that you didn't even notice you fell onto the ground until just now.
As much as you want to lay down, you should probably get going. At the very least, find some safety to rest until you're better (and hopefully wait out the monster in the lobby), if not try to make a run for the outside with that thing in there.
