>be me
>starting my dream business in niche industry despite economic uncertainty and frankly near certainty of failure
>set up multiple accounts with various wholesalers and distributors for [products]
>come to find that a statistically significant portion of the time it would be cheaper-and sometimes much cheaper-to purchase [products] from Ebay, Amazon and another major industry retail storefront I'll refrain from disclosing
>have to become comfortable with the idea that I'm simply selling shit marked up from publicly accessible websites like 3/4ths of the time

I will be earning this markup through my service experience and other means tbh and I have zero ethical qualms about it but it still feels retarded. I went out of my way to get all this tax stuff taken care of and opening limes of communication with various companies, I should have access to sources better than the general public and it just seems that apart from certain larger display items you just don't, at least in this particular market.

A perfect example of these various idiosyncrasies is this specific item that was $80 at a wholesale website, $90 on ebay and $40 on Amazon.

i'll be only buying from you when you have kind of forgotten to update the prices of "your" inventory and therefore end up selling a big box of item for 30% less

I don't know what the hell you're selling, but an identical item on Amazon can be 5X or even 10X cheaper on Aliexpress.

...but none of those things have a brand name associated with them! How am I supposed to sell something without a brand name attached!? The consumers will revolt!

You get what you pay for, brokie.

Every "distributor" website I've encountered for this specific type of product is a fucked up web 1.0 illegible boomer mess that uses borderline esoteric terminology with no plain english guide for wtf they're talking about specifically, item and assortment descriptions are inconsistent and product photos are often too low resolution and jpg artifact-riddled to be useful or absent entirely. Also hidden charges like large freight surcharges if some of the products you ordered aren't at your "default" warehouse (!?). I'm tired, Boss
