>>113379Really? That's fucked. For this book specifically or one of the others in archive.org? In this book's case it's free on that project aon site with the original author's blessing-I believe in .pdf form as well.
I've counted two somewhat cheap deaths so far. The first one admittedly had several safety layers I just didn't have because I took different abilities in the beginning and it still gave me a coin toss-equivalent dice roll at the end of it which I happened to fail. The second cheap death was kind of sincerely fucked though. "The code to access this thing is numerically equal to a few completely unrelated occurrences that happened earlier, lol". Nigga
fuck you.
At that point it's essentially a permadeath unless you'd recorded every page you'd erstwhile landed on and backtrack, and it's stuff there's no way you'd know without having a seriously good memory or writing benign miscellaneous stuff down whenever you so I have to start over from square one. It's like a 450 page book and I genuinely would be surprised to hear that I'd gone through 20 pages thus far, at least to that point I don't feel that bad about starting over from scratch especially as I can skim through my previous responses and leave my character essentially untouched.
