If I were to start life over again I would not over-rationalize myself into a middling economic position as I did. Thinking we're so "above it all" can turn around and become a less intelligent decision in the long run because your relationship to others matters and opportunities can be gained or lost depending on their impression of you. I believe this kind of economic nihilism can work out well for some, but at least for me it was a bad move because-for example-I'm unable to bring myself to take advantage of public assistance and things like that. I got caught in sort of a sub-optimal scenario, far from being the worst case (I actually like my job a bit and that counts for a lot), but being far short of what could have been if I'd truly applied myself both in education and in my private life.

>>69169Nah I just mean it's been like, psychologically/culturally ingrained in me that I shouldn't. It's not like I need it, but it's just that conundrum of, were I to not need to work for money as I do (because I were willing to exploit the benefits system), could I have accomplished that much more by devoting my time towards my own goals? If I had worked harder in school and pursued higher education instead of writing it off as basically being beneath me (*tips fedora*) would certain things outside of work have gone better perhaps? Can't really say. I have some friends who're much better off than me career wise but it hasn't really yielded the kind of quality of life improvements I think I'd want as a trade off for the sacrifices they'd made. I also have some who're so wildly well off through no merit on their part (not that they are without merit and often the opposite-just that they themselves didn't work for their opulence specifically) that they live a life free of any kind of struggle and minimal responsibility. Rich kids and retards are the two demographics I think I find myself the most envious of, not because of their access to money in the former's case but their freedom from needing to devote so much time and energy, physical and mental, into pursuing it.

>>69179>>69168it wasn't an argument about tecsoylogy but basically having to carry a commonly recognized pedant worth 800-1500 currency in shape of a modern phone saying 'i come from a background where i can afford minimum 1500 world currencyunits of monthly disposable income so my lineage is not of a degenerate' to be taken seriosuly and choosing to display carrying a different pedant is an inverse, - suggesting indecisiveness, lack of ability on or spitefulness against picking social ques, troubled and stunted personality and/or involuntary necessity for, or unhealthy obsession of being frugal which suggests troublesome family background, lack of education and professional ability.
a person that has to out of necessity spend time looking for the least worn out pair of jeans in trift stores is not going know what Tame Impala is, suggesting problematic background and psyche, and probably should be avoided and cannot be trusted with money.

Nah, anyone who needs to put this much thought and energy into influencing their perception is compensating. If it is not natural for you to come across as high class then u are just faking and will look dumb. Actually high class ppl do not care about Apple bs, you are aspiring to follow the trends of bourgeois, which is really not at all better than being a poorfag. It's like how poors think that the ultimate status symbol is graceless ugly stuff like lambourginis or wristwatches . Nouveau riche is so ugly and it is better to just be yourself
being middle class is really not such a boon at this point when all the young ppl from those backgrounds are completely insane and destroying themselves even more than poors
