I finished watching the HBO miniseries "The Penguin" today (2026-10-03 UTC). I give it a low to medium rating. Spoilers for it follow. The main character, Oz, reminds me of Tony Soprano from "The Sopranos" (and Sopranos is probably a better show). From the start of it I suspected that "The Penguin" would be like the "Breaking Bad" story, except the father figure would kill the son figure and cleanly get away with it. Turns out I was right. In the last episode, Oz kills his second-in-command who is a non-white named Victor. That scene is supposed to establish Oz as an irredeemable monster, but I would have been more sympathetic to that idea if Victor was white like Oz.

Batman is mentioned at the start and end of "The Penguin". In one of the Batman stories, I'm pretty sure that Batman kicks the The Penguin's ass or kills him. "The Penguin" has a female character who is sexy or at least sometimes dresses sexily.

Thinking that his argument boils down to this:
A -> #1: Harm to humans = basically morally wrong.
B -> #2, #4, #6, #9: People will make less money because creatives are being replaced with AI.
C -> #3, #5, #7, #8: AI-generated content is lesser quality than human-generated content.

I agree with him on point C: there's a sea of crappy content created by AI on the Internet. Take porn, for example: it all looks the same and hardly has any stylistic differences. Porn artwork created by humans is sometimes way better than a ton of slop. Sometimes slop porn art is good, but I think usually it's not. This is my practical reason to dislike AI creative content: it sucks and is low quality.

I disagree with him on point B: I care more about archivists than I do about creatives. Artfags can go fuck themselves. I've found creatives to be annoying and otherwise dislikable. Think about:
- there's like a million lifetimes of videos on YouTube. It would take that long to watch all of its videos: 80 years times something-million. Most of -- like 90% of it -- isn't "quality videos". But even all of the quality videos ("the 10%") would take a million years to watch
- Same thing with movies. It would take around 52 years to watch every "quality" movie. It would take some hundreds of years to watch every "quality" TV series.
- Same thing with music, images, webpages.

Do we REALLY need more creative shit churned out? How about we focus on archiving what we already have instead of creating so many new video games, movies, videos, artworks, etc.

I do not respect AI companies unless they have the right plan for public good archiving of their books.

I'm pretty sure the smartphone directly received the radio because I turned the WiFi off. Then, in the FM radio app, it said that it uses the headset as an antenna. Headset meaning headphones or earbuds, something with an audio jack. After that, there was radio static or no static depending on how I positioned the phone or where I put it.
