>>65702>>65714Anterior deltoids:
• Dumbbell/barbell front raises.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRJ6tR5-if0 Keep weights low (10lbs) and do it slowly, do not continue any further if you start to feel any kind of sharper-than-usual kind of joint-like pain in the rotator cuff area as rotator cuff tears are permanent and only partially recover without surgical intervention.
• Pushups
Posterior deltoids:
• Dumbbell/barbell face pulls
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzTY7j9ocR8Lats:
• Dumbbell/barbell bent-over rows
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PoEksoJNawUsually what I do is combine face pulls and bent-over rows since they're the same standing position by continuously alternating between 2 reps of bent-over rows and 1 rep face pull until exhaustion, as I find my shoulders give out sooner from the delt exercise than my lats from the lat exercise. I don't bother with front raises, I prefer to just do pushups.
No.65722
I do:
Hammer Curls
Shoulder Presses
Dips (can do Dumbbell Tricep Extensions instead)
Dumbbell Flyes
Curls
Dumbbell Front Raises
Reverse Curls
Pull Ups
Hanging Leg Twists
Push ups
Planks
Romanian Split Squats
Dumbbell Side-bends (55lb)
Shrugs (55lb)
Farmer's Carry (55lb)
I need to integrate those like...reverse sit ups so I have something for lower back heh

I think there is a big misconception that you have to lift once or several times a week to maintain or gain muscle. Its bs, I lift once every 5 to 10 days, sometimes even less.

I just want to go out for a nice walk. I used to walk ever morning after waking up at 3AM, but now my walking time has been ruined because new houses keep getting built in my neighborhood. There's always cars in the road at all times of day now, there's always someone hanging outside their house even early in the morning. I can't have the peace I crave.

Just tried a gym for the first time in 15 years. There is no way I'll ever sign up to a gym from what I experienced:
- You're told to wipe down the machines/benches etc before and after every use. What a pain
- Otherwise you need a towel with you (I forgot mine so I used wipes they had)
- Was anxious about using the machines and not knowing when people were fully done with them
- Anxious a bit about having to leave my bag in the stand thing. Annoying/weird when at home I just leave my stuff sprawled around (water, paper for writing down lifts/routine information, smartphone for music/timer, bluetooth headphones)
- I just sat at the machines while I was resting between sets (1 min on stopwatch app, at home I prefer to do 2-3 mins depending on the exercise)
- Lebs everywhere, though that is obviously a gym selection problem. Actually I wanted to try a gym to see what the fitness/gym community was like, I like being social in the other sports I've done (really just surfing)
- To top it all off, it was going to cost about $20 per week PLUS the $90 join fee and $90 card fee. Very expensive. So its like $100 per month plus $180.
I will stick to what I have at home - my free weights, dumbells, chin up/dip station and exercise bike. Its so much easier to lift at home, the only real difference being half my gym is outside (deadlift platform, barbell and squat rack) and half inside (dumbells and exercise bike) and I have to pay attention to climate control (can't lift when too hot or too cold, though I have a fan for when the weather is more than mild).
Though I might go running around a nearby park if its safe enough.
Also I want to FUCK Tony (Toni?)
No.66834
>>66833The main reason I wanted to try a gym is to use the machines for a different exercise selection. Actually the machines were kind of weird to use. Free weights feel so much more natural.

>>66833I don't know what you were expecting. To me the gym seems nothing more than a social thing, e.g. bringing a girlfriend, a friend or hitting on chicks. Or to scam morons who don't know how to exercise in their own homes.

Thought: your average person gets way more than enough protein in their diet just from food, and supplementing it is a scam.

There's a serious issue with frequent supplementation beyond addressing specific nutritional deficiencies: magnesium stearate. This shit is in almost all of the cheapo supplements unless someone goes out of their way to avoid it and builds up in the stomach. The only supplements I would be inclined to use at times are the ancestral whatever organ meat supplements or somethibg like b vitamins including niacin if you get off on the flush like I do
No.69344
>>69293I did a lil experiment in my 20s where I reduced my protein down to like 40g daily or something, I was living off jam donuts and flat whites and it didn't seem to have any effect on muscle gain or retention etc. Whey is a scam, creatine is probably not necessary and it seems to cause bloat. There are some supplements that work to build muscle like some things that boost test, but that comes with the complications similar to taking testosterone/steroids. I'll admit its tempting though to try something that boosts test a bit. I forgot the one I read about months ago, some herb.

To be honest I've always resonated more with that nihilistic view too, but as I'd gotten older I've seen first hand how taking care of yourself can have a very positive impact on your quality of life and perhaps even its trajectory. For most of us it's not too late to right the ship.
