Psychedelic substances should be legalized in that case. Hedonism is gay, but so is a blanket ban on pleasure. Unlike tobacco or alcohol, there is virtually no addictive quality to speak of. I'm not the kind of person to disguise my motivations for using them as some form of spiritual enrichment. They definitely made me see different perspectives or reflect on my beliefs, but they also feel good. Besides DMT, I'd feel exhausted by the time the drug started tapering off and would typically wait awhile before taking anything again.
